The Digital Foam Resilience Tester is used to perform the Ball Rebound Test to determine the resilience of flexible cellular polyurethane.
CellFlex is a digital version of the Standard Ball Rebound Resilience Test which provides increased reliability and accuracy. CellFlex uses an electronic sensor to detect the impact of the steel ball on the foam sample. The built-in electronics measure the time interval between the first impact of the ball and the second impact after the rebound. The Cellflex software calculates the rebound height from this time interval. After each drop, the rebound value displays on the computer screen.
The rebound value gives an indication of the resilience or elasticity of the foam sample as a percentage of the drop height, for example, if the rebound height is 20cm the rebound value is 40%. A higher Rebound Value indicates a greater resilience of the foam.
Digital Display
The Digital Foam Resilience Tester uses an electronic sensor to detect the impact of the steel ball on the foam sample.
Using data from the repeated impact, the IDM Software calculates the rebound value. After each test, the rebound value is displayed on the touch screen.
Functions and thier uses:
- RELEASE: Used to drop steel ball
- EXPORT: Use the USB data cable supplied with the machine to export test reports
- SAVE: Saves the values into the table on the home screen. as the values are saved the values like Min, Max, Mean and deviation will be updated
- CLEAR: Clear the values in the table. short press will delete the latest data and long press will clear the entire values in the table

At the end of each test, the data can be saved into the table on the screen, the program calculates the minimum, maximum, mean and deviation from a series of tests.
Ball Rebound Resilience Test Procedure
- Ensure the apparatus is set up on a flat level surface - use the spirit level to check.
- Place the test specimen, of specified dimensions, under the vertical rebound tube - if samples of non-standard thickness are to be used, the height of the tube assembly can be adjusted using the adjustment screws.
- Place the ball in place under the magnet using ball retrieving tool.
- Press RELEASE on the main screen.
- Steel ball will drop and values will be displayed on the screen.
- Press SAVE to save the reading on to the column after each test.
- Once all the sample reading are recoded, press EXPORT to generate and save the Test Report in excel format.
